This multidimensional park connects with the Iron Horse Trail and Creek Walk. All programmed through ARCS are the Senior Community Center, gazebo, Civic Arts Studios, Park Place, and Assembly Hall. The Civic Park also houses the Bufano Hand of Piece. The park also has habitat gardens. Cross the orange wood and metal bridge to the left, enter through Civic Drive into the parking lot. The habitat gardens are nestled between the Iron Horse Trail and the ball ground. In 1996, the habitat gardens were built by Land Art, originally intended by John Northmore Roberts. In 1999, the City employed Dann McCright and the Lindsay Wildlife Museum to supervise habitat gardens creation. Since then, the gardens have become a virtual oasis for more than 25 butterfly species and 130 indigenous crops in California. Visitors will discover in the habitat gardens a range of interpretive indications. Visitors to the park can walk along the paths or enjoy hundreds of years ancient resting in the shade of Valley oak trees. Also making its way through the habitat gardens is the Creek Walk that follows Walnut Creek. Civic Park has 7 acres of property from dusk to dawn accessible to the public. There is a program that is 2-5 years old and a program that is 5-12 years old. Civic Park is also home to a beautiful community center to serve all natives of Walnut Creek. If you own a dog and love walking well, you're lucky because Civic Park enables dogs as long as they're on leashes. The park also houses a lovely Gazebo for anyone who wants to take pictures to remember their visit. There's also a lovely seasonal Ice Rink in the Civic Park. Finally, there are several trails connecting the park making a loop of all the fields and points of interest.
