Wear Your Best Smile with Cosmetic Dentistry Procedures

WALNUT CREEK, CALIFORNIA – Is there an aspect of your smile that’s less than perfect? Does your imperfection cause you anxiety in public, or cause you to hide your mouth?

If so, you could benefit from cosmetic procedures to perfect your smile.

Drs. Julie Kwon and Hani Jabbour know cosmetic dentistry requires skill and artistry. There are aspects of your smile that you want fixed, but not every patient benefits from every procedure. Drs. Kwon and Jabbour will meet with you to discuss your concerns, and then they’ll discuss procedures that are right for your smile.

Our colleague, San Francisco dentist Dr. Greg Larson, shows his patients digital smile simulations so they can visualize their perfect smiles after certain cosmetic procedures. In our office, we’ll show you our smile gallery of patients whose smiles were improved by our team. We use the same care and skill as Dr. Larson to determine what procedures are best for you, and we take into consideration how they’ll fit in with your facial features, your face shape, your skin color, your hair color and the width of your smile.

Clear Braces

Many of our patients want straighter teeth, but the thought of metal braces makes them shudder. You may not want the attention from metal braces, and you may not want the discomfort and hassle. We have the answer to tooth alignment that will keep your smile uninhibited: Invisalign. For our patients in Walnut Creek, Invisalign is a favorite because it straightens teeth without calling unwanted attention to your smile. Most people won’t be able to tell you’re wearing the clear aligners, and you’ll be able to keep your flexible lifestyle. You can take the aligners out to eat, drink, floss and brush, meaning your teeth will stay clean and healthy throughout your treatment. You can also remove them for a big night out. But the more you wear them, the faster they work.

Teeth Whitening

Are discolored or less than sparkling teeth shading your most perfect smile? You may have a dull smile because of drinking coffee, tea, wine, tobacco use or simply from aging. A whiter smile can make you look younger and greatly enhance your appearance. Tooth whitening is a simple and quick in-office procedure that effectively bleaches your teeth. We use the Zoom! whitening system to brighten your smile in our office. You’ll leave your one-hour appointment with teeth up to eight shades whiter. We apply a whitening gel to your teeth, and its active ingredient is hydrogen peroxide. Then we use a Zoom! light to activate the whitening gel and whiten your teeth.

You can also opt for at-home tooth whitening kits so you can achieve a brighter smile while watching your favorite show or reading a good book. Zoom! also makes a whitening gel you can use at home. This system will whiten your teeth up to six shades after three days of applications. Not all tooth shades react equally to tooth whitening; Drs. Kwon and Jabbour will evaluate your tooth shade to see if you’re an ideal candidate.

Bonding is a simple procedure that you can benefit from in just one office visit. You may have one chipped tooth that bothers you, or you may have spaces between your teeth that you want filled. Dental bonding can also change the shape of your tooth, either to make it appear longer or wider. Most of the time you won’t need anesthetic to bond resin to a tooth unless the tooth shows signs of decay. Your dentist will choose a color that matches your normal tooth color, and then he’ll apply the bonding to your teeth. Then your dentist will use a light or laser to help strengthen the bond to your teeth. Bonding is an easy way to correct cracks, gaps, chips or discolorations on your tooth.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are slender pieces of ceramic that adhere to the fronts of your teeth. You may want porcelain veneers to achieve a movie star smile, because that’s what veneers promise. Our office is skilled at veneer application, and each veneer is designed specifically for your smile. If you take care of your veneers, they’ll last at least 10 years. Veneers help mask any problems that hinder your brightest smile. Veneers are bright and white, they’re perfectly shaped for you, and they are strong and durable. Porcelain veneers will certainly take your smile to the next level.
