Bruxism is the involuntary habit of grinding and/or clenching teeth. This condition is fairly common and can cause premature wear of teeth as well as muscle tightness and pain in the jaw joints.

Nightguards are used to prevent damage to the teeth by protecting the teeth from grinding against each other. Nightguards can also relieve the symptoms of jaw and muscle pain caused by bruxism.

Custom fitted nightguards are made from a mold of your teeth for optimal fit and are usually made of acrylic. They are much more comfortable than the OTC brands, which are bulkier and do not provide a tight fit, making it more difficult to wear.
